Scuba Diving in North Cyprus
Surrounded by crystal clear and warm seas, Cyprus is a haven for both amateur and advanced Scuba Divers. Many professional clubs are available, mainly PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) dive schools, where even the youngest can learn to dive within a relatively short space of time.
Courses available start from simple basics, Open Water, Rescue Diver, right up to Dive Leader and Padi Master.
As to actual dive sites, dependant upon where you are staying, these range from open water reefs to wrecks with an abundance of marine life, even some species from the Red Sea.
These can include Stingrays, Grouper, Scorpion Fish, colourful Wrasse and Amberjacks, Moray Eels and of course octopus, Bream and Starfish.
Underwater visibility varies, but can be up to 30 meters on a good day.
In some areas, one can even find coral and sponges.
Somewhat further a field, trips can be arranged to dive on the famous Zenobia wreck which lies some 42 meters below the surface.
